Frequently Asked Questions
Why don't you carry any polycarbonate bottles?
We have chosen not to carry polycarbonate bottles until the controversy over BPA is completely cleared up. Our philosophy is pretty simple: I don't really care how much BPA is "safe" for human consumption. I prefer my drinks to free of as many chemicals as I can get 'em!
Since we began this project, we've also developed a little "issue" with unnecessary plastic usage. We believe that plastic is a wonderful thing that has made our lives better in many ways. We just think that we need to be mindful of how much of an impact it's having on our natural resources and our environment. "Drink Responsibly" has taken on a whole new meaning!
Does the metal make the drinks taste different?
NO! All the bottles that we carry are made of completely safe materials that won't leach anything to "flavor" your water. Please see product categories for more complete information about materials used in production.
Most of our bottles are completely dishwasher safe! We recommend hand washing the caps. Personally, I hand wash the small mouthed bottles with a bottle brush because I think I can get them a little cleaner than the dishwasher. If you're having any spotting on the inside, wash with a little baking soda or vinegar.
In our house, we call those dents "battle scars" aka "character". If this worries you, we have some pretty nifty carrying totes to protect your investments!
Can I get different or replacement caps?
Most are available with options, or replacements, if you need one!
Yes. One year manufacturers' warranty under normal wear and tear. If your aluminum bottle unknowingly gets stuck under your car seat and crunched repeatedly - like mine - you're on your own!
Is my bottle safe for hot drinks?
No. At this time, all of our bottles are single walled and unsafe for carrying anything hot! You can use your own discretion with warm drinks.
Can I put my bottle in the freezer?
Sorry! It'll void the manufacturers' warrantees so we can't recommend it.
Can I fill my bottle with anything besides water?
No problem! Anything you want! Juice, sports drinks, cocktails if you're legal! Some manufacturers don't recommend carbonated beverages. Check the individual product listings.
